Nida is one of the most popular resort towns in Lithuania. The city is located on the Baltic sea in the Curonian Lagoon near the Curonian Spit. Nida boasts some of Lithuania’s most beautiful beaches as well as several natural sand dunes. The city is the westernmost point for the Baltic States, and has just one airport, Nida Airport. Each year the city plays host to an annual jazz festival which has been held each year since 2000. The city also contains interesting examples of neo-gothic architecture, a large sundial monument, and a gallery museum of artwork mostly in amber. Car rental at Nida Port is a good way to tour the city on a hot day.

With cheap car hire at Nida Port, visitors may wish to visit neighboring resort town, Palanga. Palanga offers more beaches and sand dunes, and unique local history of its own. Local cuisine and accommodations for both locations are readily available and diverse in opportunity.

Nida also offers a local camping site for visitors who prefer to camp out by the beach or lagoon. Camping reservations can be made in advance to secure a site at the park.
